Stanley “Sid” Clarke is a Senior Advisor at the Patriot Group. Prior to retirement, General Clarke served as the Director of the Air National Guard from March 2013 to December 2015 and has over 34 years of combined military service. In his role as Director of the Air National Guard, General Clarke was responsible for coordinating policies, plans, and programs for thousands of service members and civilians holding positions in the Air National Guard. Before taking this position, he was the Commander of the Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command Region – 1st Air Force.
General Clarke has also served as the Deputy Director of the Air National Guard and as Assistant Adjutant General for Air for the Alabama National Guard. He has served in a variety of operational assignments, which include as a Senior Defense Official/Defense Attaché in Turkey. General Clarke is a command pilot with more than 4,000 flight hours, including more than 100 combat hours, and has served as a T-38, C-26, A-10, and F-16 pilot. General Clarke received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia, where he was a distinguished graduate from their ROTC program as well as a Master of Arts degree in military studies from the American Military University. General Clarke has also completed the Capstone General and Flag Officer course with the National Defense University and the Combined Forces Air Component Commander Course at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.
